Default Need help tuning 2009 250sf

At sea level..
No lid on air box
klx 300 header and tail..ie full.. no butt plug
was sold a Factory Pro jet kit.
came with what I'm lead to be live are keihin jets
#38 pilot
#115#118#120#122#125#128 main jet
a needle with grooves and clips..

so I tried the #38 pilot #125 main and clip in second groove..

started right up idles great..

runs like crap.. mid to full open it's surging and bogs like it's just struggling..

not sure which way to go....

I know I Should've got the DJ kit.. but there has to be a set up with this Factory Pro that will get me where I need to be..

Helps to know your general location - elevation. At around 1000 ft the main used was a Kiehin 128 by my brother and I used a 125 along with a Dial-A-Jet. We used the information from D.Pippin's site. I forget if I used a 38 or 40 pilot, but it works pretty good.

You are way, way lean on the main jet for a lidless setup.
I'm at sea level.
#40 pilot
#152 kehin main
n1-TC needle (that's the Kawasaki one) on 1st notch

DJ kit doesn't come with big enough main jet for lidless either, only the needle is really useful.

Thats with a stock header, two bro's slip-on and a K&N filter, should be ballpark for your setup tho I'd imagine.

Put in the k152 jet and set the factory pro

no more fiddling around ....

the dj kit 2206 has a selection of main jets that worked with both the stock klx displacement and for the big bore 350 kit running no airbox lid running kit #78 from b&b.
