Anybody have a suggestion for a tail bag for my 06? Looking for a small one to attach to the rack.

They're a lot of Good Members Here and they will do there Best to Help You out with Your Questions. Sometimes It Takes A Little Longer Then Others. So, hang-in there.

 

Just got something from an army surplus store. Plenty of webbing attachments makes it easy to attach it to my rack. AUS $15.

I use an MSR Roost Pak...



It's actually meant to be attached to a chest protector or a fanny pack, but works really well attached to the rack. There's a thick webbing on the backside with 6 or 8 loops sewn in. I just use zip-ties to attach it to the rack...



It's big enough to hold all of my tools, including a tube and tire irons, but small enough that I don't even notice it's back there.

I have a chase harper bag (if you want to call it that) molded foam with outside material... supposed to be a DS type bag. Its not bad for around town type of use and seems to hold up to wet weather and mud okay. http://www.chaseharper.com/TailTrunks/TailTrunks.htm I used some plastic wraps to attach to the bag in four places.

Agree with the bicycle rack bag...but not usually the Walmart versions...the one's I've seen don't have the fabric integrity to hold up. I used a Trek bicycle rack bag, but there are many brands, models, and sizes. Get a bike shop to let you see their catalog if they don't have a good selection and you can see many good candidates and their dimensions listed. One great thing about a bicycle rack bag is that the bag attaches via strong nylon loops on the bottom so that you can open and access the inside with a top opening zipped lid. I used two short bungies to strap mine to the KLX rack, and it was a perfect fit and super secure.
