Need help with seal savers
I have a set of velcro on seal savers from DirtSkins, and I can't seem to get them to fit. They'll go over the fork just fine, but the plastic fork guard guide that clamps down onto the outer tube just doesn't want to bolt down once the seal savers are on.
So, in my frustration, I thought that maybe cutting off all the velcro would help get the seal savers to fit. Nope (stupid idea, I know). Now i'm stuck with a set of seal savers that have degenerated into strips of neoprene.
So now I need to figure out how to get these strips of neoprene to stay onto my forks. Ideas?

RE: Need help with seal savers
I haven't tried the velro Seal Savers, but I have the kind you have to pull the forks to install. Mine barely work beneath the fork guard clamp, but it's do-able. I had to have one of my sons squeeze the clamp with large pliers so I could start the bolts. All went fine after that. My guess is that the velcro Seal Savers are a little bulkier than the ones I have. If you can get some help, try squeezing the clamp as mentioned while you fit the bolts into the threads. Or, yo could purchase slightly longer bolts for one hole and once it's partially threaded in, put the stockers in the other hole to smash it all down. Just be careful not to break the clamp.

Well, I ended up just cutting the velcro off of both of them, and then using zipties to keep them on.
Yes, I can relate. I spent at least a half hour trying to get the bolts on the fork guard guides started!.
