Need help finding a keyed wire
Trying to add a 5 function electronic gizmo to help keep an eye on my ever growing electrical draw. It has 3 wires - hot, ground, and one for a circuit that is connected to the key.
Electrical stuff is not my strong point. Was hoping there is a plug I could back out a pin and piggyback the wire onto.
Pulled the front plastic off and see a bunch of plugs. Is finding a "keyed" wire as simple as unplugging and testing the wires with the key on?
Any help would be appreciated as always. Thanks.
This is what I got if anyone else is interested...

Well, after some hours in the dirt(it always clears the head), I realized I could just plug it into my "extra lights" switch and monitor the battery voltage while the lights are on. This lets me turn the "extra lights" off, if the battery falls below 12.2v, then the volt meter reads what the battery voltage is with the lights off.
Once I have a kick starter installed I won't be as worried about the battery. I still won't want to kill the battery, if I can help it.
What I really need are "extra lights" that are LED, with a good reach and pattern, but those seem a bit expensive right now. For now my $18 Wally World lights add just enough to help me see Bulwinkle a little sooner.

Thanks! I did ground it to the frame. Now I can go back and attach it correctly to a Brown wire. I used to be OK at reading schematics, must have replaced that info with something more relevant to my survival (or I just forgot, ahem).
