I would just clean up the oil and go ride. If it comes back then go see the dealer.

Mine "wept" oil but not ever enough to drip. It was the oil fill plug. There was a burr in there that kept it from sealing well. I think I finanlly beat it down enought it quit.

Don't keep riding it..call the dealer and make sure they understand you want it fixed in a timely fashion..my buddy had to return his new KLR650 for an oil leak, turns out the side cover gasket was bad and he ended up waiting for that to come in before they could fix it..he was without his bike for a few weeks, this is after the bike was over a month late arriving in the first place...make sure you check the bolts (all side covers, drain, oil filter, etc) as he found quite a few that were loose on his bike..I guess they can sometimes overlook that stuff when assembling..keep positive though

Hey All,

Thanks for the replies, I've just woken up, checked my bike, there is no oil underneath at the moment (i was half expecting to see a puddle) so whatever it is it only comes out when engine is warm, i've got an hour to wait till I can call the dealer. Will keep you posted.

Cheers
Chris.

Uh? What?? RU Serious? At least check the basics like Oil Drain Plug, Filter Housing, Cooler Hoses & Clamps Etc.... Then Make the dealer check it first thing tomorrow if you don't find a leak yourself. Don't ride it if the window doesn't show it full of oil.

My guess is that the mechanic that assembled the bike got messy when filling the oil. Cleaning it up and checking if the oil drips come back are a good first step in troubleshooting the problem.
