Are my rims too heavy?
I was just wondering how much unsprung weight I would save by upgrading to an aftermarket rim / hub set. Each time I have had the tires off I have noticed how heavy the stock rims seem.
Thanks

Ha! That was funny. Sorry, needed a good laugh. Lil' is driving me crazy today. You may continue on with the thread now....
While every oz. of unsprung wt. matters I agree with the money thing. I'm sure you'd like the feel of lighter rims they wouldn't make much realworld difference. Tenths of a second a lap on top level rider but for the average dude it's bling.

If they are tougher than your average rim then that is a good case to keep them. To date I do not doubt their durability.
I was thinking that as well as the actual weight savings, the whole bike would feel lighter and more agile with less momentum in most riding situations - but if this is not readily apparent then I have to agree it is a bit of a money sink.
