I really like the Turbocity racks, but they only fit the 2009's, and I have a 2007.

Bummer

Dude, it is just an idea. CTFO! I'm just saying that if it were me making this fine rack, I'd make it an option to have a bolt-on third bar- simple as that. I'm sure I'm not the ONLY person in the world to embrace this idea. Chrysler makes roofracks an option on the 2008-2009 Grand Caravan- for the people who want them and for those who will never use them. But at least they're available for some and for those others, they don't have to buy them- just like my idea of an optional third bar. IT'S JUST AN IDEA/THOUGHT/THEORY/RECOMMENDATION. Any company/corporation needs to know that in order to be ultra-successful, they have to be as versatile as possible to achieve that. Without synnergy and versatility/creativeness, you're only as good as your own ideas.
Oh, here we go.

Put my rack on yesterday, seems very well made and went on very easily. Only down side I can see is it will take an extra few min to take the side pannels off since you have to remove the rack first.

I'm happy with it.

It mounts to the seat holes on the sides and the subframe on top of the fender, the back 2 holes where the toolkit normally goes.

stock rack on an 06-07 with the moose racing rear fender bag is the best setup IMO... but that does look good... alot smaller than the 06 rack...

The rack rocks. Went on quickly and bolted up great. I won't bother with the pics since there are great ones here already.

Justin -- thanks again for a great rack! I appreciate it greatly! I can't wait to ride again. It's been weeks. Sunday's supposed to warm up, so hopefully I'll be able to take it for a spin, then. I think I'll go buy beer, and strap it down...just because I CAN!

When designing a new product, the approach I take is aimed for the mass market appeal. Though I realize I will not be able to please everybody with the final designs, I try my best, given my experience in riding, fabricating, and those opinions given before hand to at least hit a high percentage of satisfied buyers.

These were my thoughts when studying the KLX mounting locations and body lines at the shop:

First and foremost the rack is intended for the user, those who will probably remount the nice little tool kit, but may do some more hard-core riding. I realized many owners may not remount the tool pouch and this DOES leave an unsightly open area for a load, but it also serves as a concave spot to place items more inclined to slide or roll. Plain and simple it makes the rack more versatile for mounting objects of different size or shape (just be sensible what you load considering it IS just a fender beneath) . A third rung would be great, I'll look into what a bolt-on rung would take to fab and consider it as an option. I couldn't justify welding a third rung in place though for this reason...I have had numerous occasions where in my off roading experience it has required me to lean back as far as possible to prevent the front end being stuck and going over the bars. Motocross is a different sport than riding woods or desert, where many KLX owners will ride. Sometimes this type of riding requires the rider to use unusual body language to pilot a bike over rough terrain such as logs, rocks or drop-offs. But even so, 09KLXowner, if you had a steel tube directly behind the back of your seat you would know it going through a whoop section at the track. The idea of a bruised tail bone didn't seem appealing, that's all.

I have come to the conclusion through fabricating many style racks that it just isn't possible to please 100% of the potential buyers and purchasers of the racks but I try and come close. Someone will always have their opinion on what should be, or could have been done but this is what makes the world go 'round and helps products improve! .

Oh and I DO have black tubing plugs which match the black textured powder coat nicely. I quit sending these out because of a change in production on the seat mounts. The mounts now have a thicker wall and the plugs are a pistol to press in, and even more difficult to remove when need be. If anyone wants them I can ship them out. Thanks all!
Nomadic Cycles,

I just wanted to thank you for sending me the black tubing plugs! Great customer service and it is much appreciated. I will keep my eye on you ebay sellers list for more great KLX products!

Anybody out there live in So. CA, (San Diego) looking for a rack for the 06-07 KLX250S?? I'm willing and able to meet anybody within a 50mi radius of the county.

I'll toss a free rack to whoever can lend a bike to me for fabrication purposes, or anybody who can network a bike my way.

KLX300's are welcome too!
