Default My new toy

Hi to all you fellow KLX people. Picked her up today. A KLX250R. (I'm sure it's identical to your 250S)
I have been reading all the fantastic posts here and it tipped me over to the green side. After much research I nearly bought a DRZ250. I have ordered the 300cc kit, it will be installed when it goes in for it's first service, and I am very keen to perform the mods talked about on in this forum. I'm thinking, along with the great free mods, a big gun exhaust, IMS tank, lower gearing and a jet kit. These parts seem more available and a lot cheaper in the US.

Can anyone recommend some realiable on line stores? Maybe a 1 stop shop?

Thanks

G'day and welcome Neil from the east coast [8D], can I suggest you have a look at Staintune before you buy a pipe. They are aussie made, absolute top quality and never need packing. Oh yeah they have the best fit and finish.

Cheers

Garry

Thanks for the welcomes.

I did checkout the Staintune. It looked too big and shiney. I can't see it lasting long. I mean, I'm sure it is a tough unit but it looks very likely to get badly scratched and dented.
The other thing is, I don't hear too much about there performance.
Not that I'm expecting anything too amasing.
The big gun gets heaps of praise from people who have them.

Heh MaverickAus, do you know if the Big Gun for the KLX is sold in Australia?
On the distributors web page it's not listed.
Same for the IMS tank.

Not to mention price. Big Gun can be had for arounf $400 US. Thats around $520 Aus.
The IMS tank is around $225 US or $300 Aus.
My local guy told me a large tank would set me back around $800. (I think thats for the Acerbis).
Even taking into account shipping I'll get everything for around $1000 Aus.
I have got too be saving a grand?

Is it that bad on the East Coast? Maybe we are getting ripped off in the West?

Any aussies out there got any suggestions or contacts then let me know.
I'm happy to keep my money here in Australia but not at any price.

Cheers
