It needs something... I got stuck AGAIN last weekend. Low water crossing was extra soupy... dad barely made it through on his DRZ 400 and I knew there was no way I was gonna make it. Sure enough. I need to hit the lottery. I need tires, and an exhaust, and tires for my car.... the list goes on LOL

Cliff, you have done all the "get the air in thee" stuff...
Yea, Punk is right. Exhaust it dude..."get the air out" ... You'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner.

BTW: Holy cow.. the F800GS has got some torque to it

Well if I had more than 5.11 to my name, I'd have the full Muzzy. Damn economy... I'm trying to sell my ticket to the Coldplay concert next Tuesday, but nobody's biting, even at less than face value.

Absolutely! The best power is between 7000 and 8000. In the right gear, you better hang on.

Umm, I have a 13-51 on my bike right now, but it never ever sees asphalt! KLX330! I also just purchased a 07 650 V-Strom the other day to go explore on!

Those v-stroms are great bikes, probably one of the most comfortable street bike around. I had an 02 vstrom 1000 for a year, but sold it b/c it was one of the 1st years & had some issues. I plan on getting a 650 vstrom within the next couple of years. Right now I explore on a dr650, but it gets tiring on long distances. The vstrom 1k has more torque, but the engine was on the rough side and doesn't like to rev as freely as the vstrom650. Enjoy.

I'm approaching 10K miles with 14/46 gears. I have ridden from Tucson to Phoenix (Glendale stadium) on I-10. I also have done some aggressive trail rides too.

Valves are the least of my worries. I strongly suggest gear that is more reasonable unless you never see anything but asphalt roads.
