Is my jetting right?
It will help. While dynoing might be the absolute scientific pursuit for performance, we're not dealing with unknowns here. The two different versions of the Dynojet are known quantities with practically guaranteed results. Will it produce big power gains?...much higher speeds?...No. Will it produce improved driveability, better response, a more enjoyable powerband?...yes. If done right, and it's not a hard install, there will be modest power gain but definitely a more enjoyable bike in the way the power is delivered.
The new needle is going to help alot i think. On your setup you could probably go with the 124 DJ main if a 125 keihin seems a tad lean, as i think that would be equal to a 130 or so keihin jet orfice size wise IIRC.
Jetting sounds very close to mine. I run the stock needle no shim with a 125 main. Runs perfect and the spark plug is just the right color. I would leave it alone. I also have the KDX snorkel and an FMF slip on.
Do just as the instructions say. One DJ kit instructs you to drill the slide while another sends a new spring. Either way, follow the instructions and it helps improve throttle response.
Installed the dj kit with the 240 main needle at 3rd clip and 3 turns out on the a/f screw.. overall the power is smoother with slightly better throttle response throughout the entire rpm range. Also there is less popping on decel. Im satisfied
