I've never seen it used as a term of endearment. I just get bugged because I worked in a dealership and there is such a prejudice against them all. Fact is a lot are fading. Some because the owners want to retire and can't sell them off, as one owner I heard of commented, "who wants to do what I have to do for $60,000/year?" Few mid or smaller dealerships are making the owners six figures. The ones that did it right were the ones that bought motorcycle dealerships as a step into car dealerships. That is where the money is. The dealer I worked for paid himself $37,000/year back in the mid 80s, plus the bike and use of the company truck. He salted away money into retirement, but still in the mid 80s almost went broke. It's a tough life with a luxury item like bikes and boats.

I will probably do a big bore myself because I still have the 650 to ride. I didn't have the second bike back then.
