Nothing at all negative in regards to Bake's tank.
And I appreciated Brian's reminder and if anything it was a positive endorsement.

But in this instance and given my location, the Nomad tank is better for me.
$A215 shipped for 5.8l.

I'm a bit OCD when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Spread sheets etc
But I'll list a few advantages of Bake's tank over the Nomad.
Carries the fuel lower.
You don't lose the rear rack or in my case tool pouch.
Less restrictive in regards to loading luggage etc as it utilises space that can't be used to pack stuff.

Nomad suites me but I'm sure the other tank would suite others.

You make it sound like it's someone from the forums fault. No one has knocked you, in your sale ad, or in this thread. Hang in there man, you do beautiful work.

Well, thank you for that, but no, absolutely it has nothing to do with any forum users, or the forum, no, not at all. I was just participating in the discussion about the fuel "disadvantage" the bike has, and then my work concerning it.

I apologize if it came across like that!! Gosh, no.

It was evident when Clarke had so many delays and issues with their tank, and they don't have anything available for the '09's, (at least that is what I know; I don't read the forums every week) that this is a tough problem.

It's been a heck of an effort to try and make something, it's been a very big challenge. With a few new angles on this, when I add it all up, I can't make these for sale, that's all.

Ok, yeah reading back, it looks like I AM attributing some connection from one comment to mine. What I said SHOULD have been something like, "Yeah man, I know what he's talking about, I'm still trying to find something that will work, also." I hope that makes sense. I was just thinking, "yeah, in his case that doesn't work, I can see that. And mine won't work either! LOL, so I better say something!"

Sorry for any misconstrued ideas!

Sounds like a liability issue and Govt. reg's.
Everyone is sue happy these days.
Bake would have to label it a water bottle, and let you make the decision what to put in it.

I use tyhe RotoPax 1 gallon and I bougth the cool little ount thingy too. Vwery simple and I can just undo the 6 bolt pattern and take the whole thing off. Actually I take the whole rack off when I ride sometimes to try and get the overall weight down.

After riding my buddies CRF250X, wow is that light.

anyways... +1 on the RotoPax.

Actually, I am in production of the KLX250 tank kits. I've got them for the newer generation and also the older model. The tanks are working well, I haven't heard a single negative about them. I had to rework how to make them, but things are fine now.

I've added a few KLR650 products to my line-up. I'll have several more items ready soon for the '06-'07 KLX's. And, I'll be in production soon of a rack that allows a WR250R to carry one of the flat Roto-Pax tanks.

I'm into this to help riders, and I'm in it for the long haul. I have no illusions of getting rich quick off it. Any new venture can have starts and stops, reworks, need to move facilities, find a new product line, it's the way things are.

I'm changing my website all the time ( it's not a very "fluid" site yet) and adding products.
I've recently updated the hardware kit for the 1.1 tank

I would never ride the bike with the mount thing only as shown in the top photo. That seems unsafe. Talk about a kidney punch waiting to happen. Six #6-32 screw and it comes off the ALuminum PLate. Or 4 screws and the whole rack comes off - my perfered choice. It is the best way to loss about 10 pounds and still eat the chocolate chip cookies

The truth is that in here in the US, anybody can sue you for anything if they want to. If someone wants to file suit, they can. They can also be open to a counter suit.
Cup of coffee is too hot, earn yourself a million dollars.
It's crazy, isn't it. No small business stands a chance to get off the cocktail napkin if fear is what guides them.

This is the solution I came up with, after "borrowing" some ideas from deej. Tanks are koplins bought off of sportsmans guide website, they are a little cheaper than the rotopax. Capacity is 1.5 gallons each. So far I have had no problems with about 1000 or so miles driven with the setup, but I havent crashed yet either! I thought about making a heat shield for the right side, but after driving it the plastic doesnt feel hot at all.
