That carb is a cakewalk. Try installing a flatside pumper. There aren't many things that have put me through he paces on this bike, but that certainly did. That's why I wen't so far as to order a special tool for the fuel screw. If there was aKouba screw thatfit, I would have snapped it up in a heart beat.

Good job, DS! [sm=icon_rock.gif]

When you have a great write-up like that, you hardly even notice what a b*tch it is to pull the carb!!!

To keep water from being sucked up into the carb when riding in 2 ft of water.

thanks Kawasakispeed. yeah the mods help give the bike some much needed breathing room. It really helps tap into the full 250 ccs.....

I'm very happy with them.. for now.... but that 331 big bore and pumper carb combo looks like the bomb!!!

DirtSurfer,

The mods look great. I am interested in doing thehigh flow snorkel/crankcase breather parts of the mods that you did. Can you provide some information on part numbers and/or source of the parts (high flow snorkel, K&N airfilters).

Also, do you know if the re-jetting would be advisable prior to opening up the intake path?

Thanks in advance...

If you let more air in you should add more fuel and more flow in the exhaust. I'm not sure of the part #'s to do all of this but if you hit the search on this klx250s site you should be able to find what you need. I installed the kdx snorkel and also used the stock snorkle for more air, rejetted, aftermarket exhaust, uni air filter. Also drilled out airbox breather hole.

Are there any gains in loosing the smog crap while the carb is out?
