Too low in what sense? That you'll drag the lever at your max lean angle, or that your shoe will drag the ground when upshifting?
My shoe drags if it's under the lever while leaning left because the bike is really low. I'm never at max lean angle.

Oil age and quality can affect this. I've run Mobil 1 4T in all of my bikes for years and the little KLX is the only one that doesn't seem to like it from a shifting standpoint. I'll likely go back to Kawi oil (or a mix) at the next change.

It's no end ot fun personalizing my bikes to suit my needs. I've got a lithium ion battery on the way that'll put the curb weight down to just 288 pounds.
I have limited movement with that ankle, upward so by lowering the shifter one notch, the shifter starts out in a lower position, hence I don't have to move my foot as high to upshift. Downshifting hasn't been an issue. Putting a piece of PVC pipe over the is a novel approach and would accomplish the same thing, never occurred to me.

I have a lithium battery in my KLX too, it's a great mod.
