Stroker is no longer in business. Four Stroke Works founder Jerry Leighton is still producing engine mods and parts. Didn't see the TM33 carb listed for sale on the FSW site.

Does Bill Blue have a web page to contact him?

Definitely go big bore first, will the 300 kit bolt on to an 09?

Then the pumper carb. Depending on what size BB TM33 for the 300, 36mm carb for the 331/340
300 Kit will bolt straight on to an 09.

I got mne from Bill blue and have been very happy with his product and phone service. Here is his info.:

Call work at (316) 640-3629,
His e-mail is; b_jblue@sbcglobal.net (between the b and j is an underscore!)

I went with the Mikuni because at higher altitudes the Kiehen has some real issues... (Not a problem if you live in this high environment, but a pain in the toosh if you visit high altitude areas annually as I do.) Sometimes requiring a rejetting and needle replacement. Not so with the Mikuni. And it's just real hard to replace the instant throttle response that the pumper gives you. PLUS no more hard starts, nor 'lay it downs' for a drink of gas to get her started anymore. Starts First Time Everytime.

Well for the 350 plus $$$ it costs, that baby should also make you toast and coffee in the morning and tuck you in at night!

Talking Kawasaki 300cc kit vs 331cc

Read this, it might help!

Hey KK, enjoyed the Austrailian article. Very impressive! Thanks for posting the link. When I bought the KLX250 I did so knowing that for a little money I could get better power out of this bike. I liked it's handling and 'flickability', for lack of better terminiology. I liked its' height, weight, loved the lifting bars (aka tail rack) and of course the looks. Price was also a positive for me.

I had been riding a Suzuki DRZ400S and found that all of the above considerations were negatives for me. Too tall, too wide, too heavy, too awkward in tight stuff, and too much power for the trails.

I felt that the KLX with either a 300 or a 331 would be just the ticket for me. Did you consider the 331 at all? If so, what was your opinion or deciding factor?

Oh, by the way, I think that a posible reason for your buds to allow you to "dance around them", may be that their view would be significantly better with you out in front! HA

I've seen the carb listed at $237.+ online.

Cable and Motion Pro Vortex (Gunnar Gasser copy?) complete the kit if I have read the right threads.

FSW offers the kit $425.

Trying to get a price quote from Bill Blue now.

Any problems w/ the single cable operation?

Hey there Mark,

The starting was the major issue for me. I hated the 'give it a drink of gas' routine if I didn't ride it everyday. Getting rid of that frustration was worth the money.

Well, It also cost me less than my cell phone! 'Sides, at my age, (72),I figure that I'll die with a bit of the green stuff left over any how. HA!

Cell phone, hell, How about the cost of your black and gray Kawasaki of yours?? Does it make coffee, & bagels with cream cheese for you?

Love the job that you did on that, Mark. how long did the project take and did you have professional help with it or was it entirely a DIY job?

Oh, by the way, thanks for the howdy.
