MIA Thread
Yesterday marked seven weeks since injury. I've pretty much ditched one of the crutches and am moving around fairly well on my own without any crutch, just slow. Did the stairs to the basement a bunch over the weekend, up & down, forward & backwards. My goal after last Tuesday's visit to the Dr. was to be off crutches in two weeks. I'm close to one week ahead of schedule!
Good thing to have lots of support and bad-*** biking idols like mr. stunt TNC above.

Hey Red:
We watched a live game Thursday. 2nd playoff round, 3rd game Idaho Steelheads vs. Las Vegas Wranglers, best of 7. Steelheads were down 2-0 going in to Thursday's game. They pulled off a 4-3 win and play here again tonight and tomorrow. A very fast and tight game. One of the better ones I've seen here in a while.
I did my first PT Wednesday and am mostly off the crutches all together except for occasional use when it's really hurting and weak. Had to celebrate last night by taking the 351 out for a good spin around town, the first since the accident. Oh the wheelies a 351 pulls are sweet.
I'm trying to burn what's left of the trials tire off so there's no going easy on it. The hard part is staying close to the speed limit. Pretty sure I need to drop the main jet size down one. Sunday will be 9 weeks.
Last visit to the Dr. I found my hardware is not planned for removal. And he didn't use any threadlocker. Probably to late to drip a little green TL juice on there.
Good thing it doesn't look like this any more:

Wow, great to hear you are out and about on the bike! It seems like just yesterday to me that you got hurt. ( I'm sure it seems like a year ago to you .
) Have you, or more likely one of your friends with two good legs, kick started the bike yet? How did it go?
Hope the PT goes well , I remember that being the worst part of having a broken wrist.
Rock on,
Dan

When the boys my new friend and I went out to the desert several weeks ago, my brother kick-started the 351. The bike was all warmed up and it still took 3 or 4 kicks. He suggested the pumper carb would make kick starting easier...just another reason to add one of those
.
During that same trip, the friend had her try on the Mule (XR250). She couldn't get it started and the boys were off riding. It is not easy kick starting a bike when you can't place any weight on the left leg, but it can be done. Twice. She is a natural at riding, no so good at kick starting, but that comes with practice.

Sorry to hear about your injury IDRIDR, sounds like you'll be back on the bike soon. Those big bone breaks are pretty serious - be sure and take the time you need to heal and don't push it too much, or you could be back to square one. Hate that the lawyers and stuff had to be involved, it's a shame people can't own up to ****, and help with bills and stuff when they were at fault either partially or otherwise. I guess people are afraid they will be sued for everything they have if they admit even the smallest bit of responsibility, and that wouldn't be right either. Most reasonable people could work things out fairly, but sadly, most people are completely unreasonable when it comes to money. Anyway, hope everything works out and you can get on with your life again without hobbling around, get your medical bills paid off, and get back out there and living a normal life again. Good luck!
^ thank you both. The bills are big no doubt. But surviving it is a blessing. I can pay the bill as long as I'm still here. Most the idiots out there are driving their cages. Watch out for them ya'll, because they are out to get you.
