I agree. Loosen all the bolts on the system, wiggle it around to get the best fitment/clearance and start to tighten at the front and work your way back. I have no melting, but did find I needed to add a washer at the front muffler mount as it did not sit flush when test fit. If I had not done that it may have pulled in too close to the airbox? FMF does seem to have alot of fitment issues on various bikes.

nothing aftermarket ever fits without futzin around, LOL. I'd guess FMF made their jigs to a 300 which may have slight differences in airbox and subframe.

I think the airbox on the efi bike is slightly bigger or lower than the US carb model from what i've seen in pictures on here.

I wasn't feeling the lowering brackets when my mechanic suggested them, I figured it would be a temp measure but that was 10 months ago & there still rock solid & looking pretty permanent now.

Not much else you can do to get the needed clearance. Lowering brackets seems like a decent solution. The Powerbomb header doesnt have the same issues when running a two bros canister.

What sort of heat shield are you using?

The FMF heatshield works fine. I ride a lot in shorts, and no problem.
