Default Looking to buy a KLX250s

Hello all
I seriously looking to buy a KLX250S. I was able to test ride one at the dealer a few weeks back. VERY NICE, just a little disapointed on the power. I was also looking at used DRZ400S. Can't belive how these dual purpose bikes hold thier value. My last true dirtbike was a KDX200, and the KLX reminds me so much of that bike. I can get it right now fro 4500.00 plus tax out the door. I'm 5'9 170lbs and a very experienced rider. The bike will be used in wisconsin north woods, some blacktop, more logging roads and lots of sand.
Just looking for some feedback from those of you who have them.

Thanks Much!
Don

Welcome aboard Don, I dont have to much time on my klx250 yet but so far i am pleased. I Have the same feeling that it is just a bit under powered but a sproket change should take care of that complaint. I to was looking at the Suzuki but at a wieght of 290 plus pounds turned me off since i plan on running a fair amount of trail riding. My previos bike was a 93 XR600 with a wieght of 320 dry just made for a hand full on the tight trails.I myself really was not looking for a power house just something i could go out and enjoy anything that my crop up. Well i hope this little bit of info helps and again welcome aboard and ride safe.

My 13t sprocket should be in tomorrow, and I'm expecting great results. The new KLX is fantastic on the single track with the stock set up. I have to run it in the 6000rpm range to get the front end up off a bump, jump or woop tee do, but climbing up steep tight single track you don't have to worry about the bike popping the front end up and over. Good hill climbing torque in fisrt @ 3000-4000rmp. I'm almost 5"8' and still can't stand flat footed(same as my KLR650), but it's lite enough for me to control easily. Have you looked at the Mods thread?.The few I have done so far are quite noticeable, I passed a guy on the freeway at 83mph the other week. Hope you have that KLX250 soon.

Let us know if it fits, and how much of a difference it makes. And of course part numbers and a phone number.
