Never had a problem with the gauge myself, saw it every time I looked down at it. If you ride so far forward that you have to look through the windscreen to see it, then I can see the problem, but I'm 5'8" and have no probs with it. Most change out the screens anyway, and the double bubbles do away with that problem all together. I'm in las vegas and never had the sun blind me from seeing it either, so don't know what they are talking about there.
