Probable the best way to lose the weight, is for the rider to go on the diet. (No sin committed, just a tip).
Funny you should say that Lear......when gas started going up, I started commuting to work on my ktm adv....about 42 miles each way on S. Florida highway madness well after a couple months and doing some math and a couple close calls.....I said F'it and bought a folding bicycle and started takin the train to work.....even thou my office is only about 3 miles from the local train station....I started to shed a few pounds and improve my stamina....now I ride that bike to the train station by my house also.....lost about 15 lbs (which is a lot for me) put on some muscle, started working out a little too and now I can stand on the pegs with no effort on da klx in sugar all day long ......smoked all my friends this weekend...except one, but he is a true former mx'er.

But if you want some more tips, try changing the muffler or gas tank. You might save 10lbs there. Or remove all the plastics, might be another 5lbs.
I have done a fair bit already.

My goal is 120kgs.
Oil, water but no fuel.
5.7kgs to go.

Problem I have with the KLX, it was/is a grrrreat starter bike, and a great bike for 50/50 short street drives, and pretty good for off road drives, but just not the ideal. Mods, one after another, trying to make it the bike I want, even though the power I want isn't coming from that motor. All the money spent on my bike, as few as they are, I could go buy the bike I ACTUALLY want probably brand new, and if not, cheaper for a used 07' which is what I have, a used 07'(with money spent on bike and mods).
This is why I had a hard time getting the big bore kit, it still wouldn't be the bike I want, and more money sunk into it that will not come out in a re-sale.

You do have a point there.
We spemd a lot of time and money trying to turn the KLX into the "bike we want" when that bike is probably already out there.
The reason I bought the KLX to start withwas every other bike that would have been "better" for my use, (off road 90%) is/was way too tall.
And that is still the case.

Now it's like renovating an old house, something else I'm 80% through, you keep doing/spending that little bit more, and more, and more, and more....................................... it never ends.
A friend told me when I first bought the house to knock it down and bulid a new one.
No said I.
This house has "character", we will renovate. Won't take much.
5 years later, many $$$$$, and it's still not finished.
And guess what? Still not the ideal house for us.

Anyway, I have spent plenty of time and money on the KLX and some of the mods have been specifically for my vertical limitaitons.
I have come too far and "must" keep going.

Now if I just do this then.............................................. ...........................
