Just return it and get a different brand. The LED light I'm running has a cooling fan and I have no issues.

Also just remembered you stated that the miss only occurs on high beam and low beam is fine. The cooling fan runs in both low and high beam.

its possible the led driver, or bulb is failing or shorting out somehow
just because its new it may be bad
could just be something bad in the electronics

swap it out with a new one, if problem happens again then just use something else

also there was a fix for the once in a while cut out when riding at high rpm

you would ground the rectifier wiring to the frame or tap into it I don't remember
I did this mod on my bike and lost that problem

not sure if yours can be fixed that way either but its a simple fix
its near the kickstand so easy to do

I remember a rectifier grounding solution as well. Anyone know the details of this? Link?

I just looked at mine
looks like I put the black/yellow wire directly to the frame bolt to ground it

I can't remember if I spliced the black/yellow or cut it from the rectifier and grounded the wire to the frame from the harness
but I'm sure that thread can be found

I'm guessing I had cut the wire and was able to stretch it long enough to the bolt

The fan runs at a slightly different pitch/sound while on high. Also, new info, the miss isn't entirely random. I've found its mostly around 6200 and 6800 rpm. Unfortunately that's cruising speed. I might try that ground trick.

The grounding mod was to cut the black with yellow stripe wire on the connector that plugs into regulator and ground the conector side of the wire to the engine.

Do you guys think the ground to the regulator could be a issue? Wouldn't that have shown up before now? the bike has 22,000km on it now.

It's a pretty easy mod to do and I would go ahead with it just to eliminate (or possible fix) the problem. This applies to the 2009 and newer bikes. The older bikes used a different regulator.

I have an 08 and started thinking about the issue with a poorly grounded regulator. My 08 is the same as the 07. I did some resistance measurement from the regulators ground wire and battery and did notice a difference between it and the ground to the motor. I decided to ground the regulator to the case and now my resistance value is the same. Because your having an issue I would go ahead and ground off the regulator. It's easy to do. Undo the two screws that hold in your regulator and find the black with yellow tracer wire. I spit open the wire insulation and sodered on a 16 guage wire which I then grounded to the motor. I just "Teed" into the wire and didn't cut it.
