Learning to wheelie

Learning to wheelie
I've been practicing wheelies for a few weeks now. I don't have time during the week to go to a safe place to practice, so I've been doing it every Sunday. I've been improving and I can actually bring the wheel a little higher than that, but that's the only shot I have - which isn't that great either.
Anyone here also likes to pop the front wheel up?

Cool, man. Mine´s also stock, but I have a D-Tracker. So, no DJ kit for me.
Here are the guides I´ve read/watched for reference:
MCN video guide: How to wheelie - | Motorbike reviews | Latest Bike Videos | MCN
Learn to wheelie with Jimmy Fireblade - | Motorcycle Riding Advice | Motorbike Riding Tips
How-to Wheelie
The last one is for people that want to get into stunting, but it has some good info for us that don´t.

When I put the 351 in, I had to lift the front wheel after every stop. I got over that but still love to pick her up. I do not shift into second.
I will read the links above, thank you.

I never tried a clutch wheelie....
I just motor along at like 3k rpms, stand up, push down hard on the foot pegs, as the suspension is coming back up I crack the throttle and pull up a bit on the handle bars at the same time and it comes right up.

deej,
Those look good. I wonder how you´re doing now, after 3 years.
Ray,
Try clutching. I think they are more fun, although I never tried a power wheelie.
I am in no way trying to give tips or anything. But, in the beginning I was using the rear brake to compress the front suspension, like the guy says in the 2nd guide. Now I don´t use it anymore. I ride with 2 fingers on the clutch, so I am used to it. But I found out that using only 1 finger on the clutch when trying to wheelie, works much better for me.

Tried some clutch wheelies today.... took some getting used too.
Then the UPS man stopped by with my dyno jet and big gun evo r system........ all I can say is WOW... instead of having to rev the **** out if it to do it, just a quick pop and wot and it comes right up and stays up.....bike is way different now...
