Does anyone know what the compression ratio is on the kk330 kit vs stock? I had a whole tank of 87 octane I've been running through and just thought maybe the compression ratio is higher. Havnt heard any pinging or anything

I wish I checked but didn't think of it at the time. Stock is 11 to 1. I thought I read the BB kits are 12 to 1.
I bet Bill Blue would know.

Does anyone know the CC's of the cylinder head? If I knew this I could figure it out.

I don't really know how the compression ration would be much different than stock. The KK piston isnt domed, and we didnt change the head at all, so all that couldve changed is the relief areas in the piston.

The stocker has two large areas relieved, my Wossner piston doesnt have those but it does appear to have a shallow dish everywhere. so who knows.. I emailed mark @ KK to see if he knew.

I think the KK330 kit is smoother than the stock piston. At 4-5K there is much less vibration (to me) than the stock bike. I do feel more vibration above 7K where I can tell its slinging around more piston, but thats about it.

One big benefit is leaving from a stop, the bike no longer wants to choke and die, the 330 will pull cleanly basically right off idle.

Still have popping with the 38 pilot @ 3 turns out. I think i may have a leak where i disabled my fresh air emissions crap ( i tapped the hole and JB welded a bolt in), but I think the gaskets are leaking, gonna hi-temp RTV the whole thing and see if that gets rid of it.

Yes we have not changed the head but we have increased the bore by 10+ mm. That = more volume packed in that same head chamber.

For example if you take a small block chevy with a 4 inch bore , 4 inch stroke with a .041 head gasket and a 70cc head it will have 10.9 to one compression.

Now take that engine and bore it .200 over to 4.200. With the same head it will make 11.9 compression.

Thats a good point, i just put in 93 octane last fillup just in case. Heard from Mark at KK, he just said stock KLX300 11:1, and use 91 or better it will run cooler...

Not sure if he measured it or hes just saying a stock klx300 is 11:1.

The stock 250 is 11:1. Not sure on 300.
