Looks good. Marked mine with a marker pen to allow a quick reference when adjusting the screw. Looks like you've done the same.

Looks good. I've got the 2009 dynojet kit and fuel screw in the mail now. We'll see how it goes!

Now, an ignorant question --

Can this screw be added by simply removing the old screw and screwing in the new one while everything is in place? Or does the carb need to pulled to do the work?

I think you really need to take the carb' out to fit it. I can do mine, out and back in in under 20 mins now. Done it a few times. LOL
Here's my fuel screw, and BTW I can adjust it while the bike is running. I just marked it with marker pen for easy reference.

Yeah what he said. The toughest part is getting the throttle cables/ bracket back on, I had to loosen one of the throttle cable adjusters on the bracket when reinstalling the throttle cables back on the carb.
Look in the stickie on top of this forum second post down, look for the thread by dirtsurfer he has pics and narratives that helped guide me through the mods. If your good at wrenching its not all that hard.

Ask any questions and someone here can help, as even I did it with alot of help from cool folks here.

good luck Mike

Huh, Westozklx - the electrical connector on top of your starter is more in the way than on a US spec klx250s as in the pic of my wifes bike there isn't one.....

That adjuster style fuel mixture screw is way cool, and abit more $$$ but if you want to adjust your carb the easy way that one is the way to go. Nice

That's the "special sauce " starter we get down under. We get all the good s@#t. Note, airbox, CDI, NO smog crap and the "cute" small tailight.
I can still turn it very easily while the bike is running and I'm no pianist.

I did mine without removing the carb, with a tiny screwdriver. I just loosened the carb boots a bit and turned the carb around a bit. It wasn't hard at all. You most definitely do not need to remove the carb to add this screw.
