Exclamation Knock me down with a feather.

The weirdest thing happened to me on Saturday.

Every Saturday morning the "leader of the opposition" (wife) and I take our 2 dogs for a walk around the river.

If we decide we need some milk or the paper, we walk past a motorcycle shop.

Anyway, as we are walking past the shop she says "why don't you buy one of those"
(mumbling something along the lines of "your current thing give me a sore ****")

Say what?

Forget the election of the first black president.
This is a moment in history.
"she who must be obeyed" is suggesting I need a new motorbike.
Trust me, this has never happened before.
Man on the moon ****.

This is not me pointing in the window suggesting to her that maybe it's time for another bike.
Oh no, it's all her idea.

Anyway, after catching my breath and wanting to maximise the opportunity, I tie the dogs up in the lane way and we walk inside.

Here is my dilemma.

Currently as well as the KLX I ride this.

A shiny red sports bike.

The shop we pass is a Triumph shop and the bike in question is this.

Nice, but not exactly a shiny red sports bike.

But then I sit on it and think, well Neil, your not exactly a young man any more and well, mmmm .....................maybe.
Got to admit, I liked it.

We are taking it out for a test ride this coming Saturday.

So what do you think?
Flick the Duke for the Trumpy?

If you have a Duke already you might as well go with a Norton and/or Triumph....

Seems u have have the gas for the old skool collection.....But you will never be complete without the enduro.......Cant drive 3 at once though........

You're a lucky man!

I admire the lines of all the old, British bikes. One of the first bikes that I remember from my childhood was a gold and white Bonneville 650.

I would wait at the corner, on my stingray bicycle, for this guy to come roaring up the street so that I could watch him ride by. I think I caught bike fever from this guy.

I'd get it while the getting is good.

Gotta take advantage of those times, Neil, before your lady changes her mind and decides new bedroom furniture or something equally appealing is more important.

Or ... wait. Wait! Did you ever consider that you might be being set up? Maybe she is suggesting you get it because she wants something as well? New car? New kitchen?

Careful, this bike could cost you a lot more than you bargained for. Probably worth it, though. I like that Triumph, nice ride! I bet it sounds sweet.

Good point Brian.
There is already a new bathroom and toilet in the pipeline, should be ready by Xmas (Yeh right). We wasted the rest of Saturday choosing taps and tiles.
But that is for "us"

But she could be about to pull the diamond rabbit out of the hat again.
mmmm She saw these earings when we were in Vegas that cost $20k.
$20k!!WTF!
Can't be ridden, driven or plugged in.

Still, on balance could be worth it.

The Triumph definitely has held its looks more over time. Most Ducati frames look like an 8th grade "build a stable bridge" project to me.
