klx300 2021

I thought everyone knew this news by now...LOL! Yes, it's the logical step for Kawasaki for the KLX. When I put our shop's first "updated" KLX300R together at the end of 2019, I kind of felt that the platform would transfer over to the S-Model. Resurrecting the off road model with e-start and FI sort of tipped that off. The only disappointment I have for the new 300-S is that they didn't transfer the 11.2" of travel over from the R-model. Short-leg'ers may complain about higher saddle heights, but the longer travel like the '06/'07 S-models had made then more off road worthy IMO. Midgets can ride the KLX230.

The new 300 Hondas (CRF300L and Rally) will be interesting too. Getting 283cc via stroking the 250 .. If the info is correct, it's a 27hp engine, stock.

Yep, already thot bout that - B&B Cycle Restorations (Bill Blue) BB kits for the CRF250L.. If his BB pistons will work with the longer stroke 283 crank, then WOW ! Can you say 30+ hp Rally300 !

The rear is probably easily fixed with a shock swap, possibly with the help of some linkage. For the front, you are looking at new forks to get the travel right.
With that being said, the frame was tweaked to provide more lively handling on the street so, handling may never be right without a new, possibly custom, triple clamp.
I have demoed the KLX-300S and KLX-300SM and can confirm they do handle differently on the street. The KLX-300R will follow the KLX-300S.
