I couldn't get my moto boot under the stock shifter and had the banshee shifter laying around so I bent it to the shape I wanted and welded a flex tip on it, seems to work fine. The stock shifter wound up on a Honda Reflex 200. The Banshee shifter is pert soft as I have bounced it off a few rocks and roots.
It might work as a kick~stand for a KTM........

Seriously want to do this on my 09. Just a cold bend to make that curve? I found an aluminum one for the Banshee for $16. Thanks... t

I’m seeing levers on ebay for XR650L 93-07, and 08-12. They must be different, So which one fits our bike? 1” longer than the stock KLX lever would be perfect for me.
Post #6 has a picture of the stock [1990]Banshee shifter I bent and put on my my KLX. I would be careful of what kind of shifter I put on
there I have heard that some aftermarket levers might be to tough, I welded a aftermarket tip[folding] on mine. I just bent mine with
with two box end wrenches. hth
"I just bent mine with two box end wrenches."... So I'm guessing you think it's alloy is softer than the splined shaft?
I got one of the Banshee Shifters for $20 (shipped) and have smoothed out a couple of gouges on it with a half round and some sand paper. Will bend and install tonight.
sanded smooth(er) the sharp edged gouge.

How much long is the Banshee lever than the stock lever? It looks kinda to long. I’ll have to measure what I have now. 3/4” to 1” max is what I’m lookin for, 3/4” being ideal. Before you mount that Banshee lever, could you line them up next to each other and take a pic and post? That would be awesome, I’d appreciate that if you could....

D351, I wasn't worried about what one was the toughest I had put Aluminum shifters on my Banshees and had the stockers lying around
and put it on my KLX. I would rather bend the shifter than jam the gears. If one has dropped his bike[low side] and picked it up and it had
shifted its self sliding to a stop it can be detrimental to the trany. sorry I said any thing, have fun...
Factory Kawasaki took steps to put safeties in the way of breaking your trans... soft bendable shift lever, they machined in a step to weaken the shift Star. To make sure the owner wouldn’t suffer transmission issues. I put in the earlier/stronger shift star so I’m going to run the flexy/repairable shifter... probably should carry a second on those do or die rides haha
