Two weeks ago I rode my KLX 250 for the 1st time down in Big Bend Texas, the bike is totaly stock and I was getting 80 mpg and up. I will admit with the loose sandy and rocky roads we rode slow, the last day there I rode 114 miles and at the gas station I put in 1.3 gallons ( 87mpg ) my sister and brother and brother inlaw were on XT 225's and got better than 90 mpg. While riding the bike in MN on paved roads I have been getting on avg 67mpg.

 

Uponfurther reflection I am retracting my claim of 87 mpg ( thats what the xts got ) but rather putting it closer to 70mpg, I recall now my odometer being a bit off to the other bikes and mistaking there fuel amounts with mine, I went about 112 miles and needed close to 1.6 gallons to refill, never did hit reserve yet at that distance though.

 

Around 140km on 7l. So thats 20kmper 1litre. 20km = 12.42 miles, 1 Litre = 0.22 Gal (0.2642 us). 12.42 miles / .22 = 56.5mpg or 47mpg us. My bike is stock (engine, exhaustand carby anyway) with 13/45 gearing

Just got done doing 450 miles in two days. My mileage was 45mpg and I'm running a Mikuni TM34, with 13 / 45 gearing

 

72 mpg city on my last tank. Muzzy/ rejet/ smog mods./ Trail tech. odo.

I just ran 94 miles on a tank of gas, switched to reserve and rode into the gas station at 99.5 miles, running. Filled up with 1.567 Gallons. I'm running Premium Fuel, stock gearing and mostly back roads.Thats--- 63mpg
I hit 80mph for the first time with this but not for long.

 

Mixed commute 26 miles each way. Includes some 70 mph expressway. 65 mpg on road over many tanks. Took two off road trips, trails and dirt roads. 40 mpg off road over many tanks. It varies a bit, but not by much.

 

wow...so much info on here! makes my head spin!...i was considering doing the carb and exhaust mods to my 07 250,but seeing the gas milage changed my mind,i'm getting 80 right now and thats av.on and off,think i'll leave well enough alone,this bike has enough power for me bone stock,and i haven't had it over 7000 rpm in 1500 miles!

 

mine has been around 60-65 w/ stock carb thats been jetted klx300r exhaust
I got around 40 during the last race I was in........ pretty good for a 170 mile flogging!
