I think the WR suspension will always keep it a bit ahead of the KLX in the hands of a good rider.
But a 40cc kit? 290cc for $1000? comeon... Gimme 80-100cc kit anyday! bring on the 351!

There really is only one option. I soooo want one too. I've been saving my pennies since I saw the first proto's demolish everything in their wake back in 1990.

Does it get any better?

Pretty sweet!... DO you know any powere/displacement/weight specs on that beast?
Wonder if they make a rotary be built to two-stroke rules if they were racing them?

Here are the main figures.

Engine
588cc twin-rotor Wankel type
Fuel injected, direct spray into both bell mouths
Fully variable intake tract to peak maximum torque between 8000-11,000rpm
Electric water pump
Ducted fan air cooling for rotors
Fly-by-wire throttle
Power
Projected at 170 BHP @ 11,500 RPM
Max torque 80 Ibs ft, at variable rpm

See here for all the info. http://www.nortonracing.com/race/

There will be a road version available, ??when. Start saving.
It will be ridden in the 2009 IOM TT. The best race on earth IMHO.

Rotaries have a power band much like a 2 stroke. No low end torque. Also get very poor fuel milage. If you ever get a chance to look under the hood of an older Mazda RX7 take a look at the carb bigger 4 barrell than a Quadrajet. Used to replace clutches on them regurarely at 15 to 25 thousand miles because of the no low end power. Van Veen and Hercules used to make rotary bikes FYI.
