Just slap a plate on there and ride it! [:@] Seriously though, I agree. You know they'll choke it down with smog gear, etc. though.

I'm quite sure there is enough talent floating around here to remove all the smog gear, etc.! [sm=bounceybounce.gif]

I'm with y'all, I sure hope that joins the Kawasaki lineup for 2008. I will have one!

Any idea as to the seat height? My legs can't go any higher swinging over that seat.

Think that headlight could be street legal?

I like this bike and would like to make it street legal.
You guys have more experience in this than me, any idea if it can be done?

Jim

Actually, I was thinking that just turning the 300 into a dual sport would be a great thing. I would guess that it would retain its lightweight maneuverability and, with a big bore kit, I could probably push it to 389 ish cc..

To me THAT would be the bomb!!

I’m thinking the 450 will be A LOT heavier, and that could impact trail/dirt maneuverability, like Suzuki’s DRZ400 feels like today…. Maybe HEAVIER!!!!

I love the idea of a KLX450S. Hope they build it. Making this bike street legal would be easy in Texas but it is still a race bike at heart and will have the same frequent service intervals that make all such less than ideal as dual sports.

It's 10kg (22lbs) heavier than the KX450F and will be available in 2007 (2008 model) according to Australian Dirt Bike. They will have one in Oz for the 2007 enduro championships. A young talent by the name of Josh Strang will be riding it, previously he has been riding to great effect a KX250 two stroke
The KX450F engine has been modded for the KLX for reliability and a better powerband more suited to enduros .... of course time will tell. Blurb here looks like there is a cali model too.

Cheers
