a gopro to make videos of yourself ripping with the 351 kit, new rear tire since your front will be safe in the air while wheeling around town ; )

Larger throat carb, more airflow, even if velocity is slighty decreased. I noticed even with my jetting to spec, I don't have has harsh of an engine brake. I also don't have to hold my throttle as open as with my 34mm CV carb. I never ran the 34mm pumper so it could just be difference between vacuum and pumper, but I don't think so.

Hello Matt,
I don't reccomend aftermarket cams the stock cams work best.
I have a customer in Japan racing a sf model he has a 351 kit, ported head O.S. intake valves, custom exhaust,36 mm Kehin carb. He wanted the 55 cams I got him a pair he installed them degreed them & went to the track, he was turning a slower laptime with the aftermarket cams went in the pit changed back to the stock cams & started turning the faster lap time.
The ported head will help a lot.

Oh good to know! I see that webcams has aftermarket over sized intake valves, I feel over sized exhaust valves would be of benefit as well, I plan to have the head ported and polished and figured I might as well enlarge the valves. Do you know of any company that makes a 26mm exhaust valve (1mm larger) that will work in the klx head? Thank you!

The exhaust valves are to close together to put O/S exhaust valves in. Only intake valves
can be put in O/S 1mm. I use the kiblewhite black diamond valves
With the O/S intake valves, ported head, custom exhaust, air box, crankcase mods & 36mm carb you can get 34 HP. I went back to the TM33/34 carb because of the gas milage with the 36 carb I was at 50 mpg with the 33/34 carb i get 70-75 mpg.

Thanks for the timely reply. It's a shame about those exhaust valves, I'm almost certain those would greatly help power. I'm looking for about that 34hp number, so looks like the tm36 if the direction I'll head in. Once again thank you for your advice. Do I have permission to copy this email to let fellow klxers on the forums know the exhaust valves cannot be enlarged?

the rest was just discussing his exhaust system
