Come on we all exaggerate from time to time, but comparing the KLX to a moped is like comparing a DRZ against a Jet bike. Did that help or not?

Polaris's Are awesome, once again Iowagoon is talking out his but. Go check any of the atv race results. Just like there sleds check the results. If they had a dirtbike that's what I'd own.

Why do people thing KTM's are so wonderful twice the price of jap bikes is that what makes them so good AND fast? Everytime I look at race results KTM's are always WAY down the list. Sometimes they make it in the top 10 but not often.
I'm going out on a limb here unlike me.....but without checking any type of data I'll say that polaris is NOT whipping up on the likes of YFZ450's or QuadrunnerZ450's or whatever Suzuk calls it's new tricked out fuel-injected race quad at races. Polaris is and always has been a 4th or 5th alternative to any other machine be it jet skis, quads, snowmobiles, etc. They're kind of like Hyundai- good but not able to compete with the benchmarks when it comes right down to it.

deej- have you ever ridden a 1989 Yamaha Jog 50cc moped? Those things would downright haul *** and that was with the governor still in. The KLX is anemic stock and thus the comparison that I've experienced is valid thru the first 2-3 gears.

beardog- who said anything about KTM's being so awesome? someone just said that this particular quad had a ktm engine in it. you know, the same quad built by polaris that you said was awesome. you're contradicting yourself- ktm's aren't awesome but polaris' which use ktm engines are?

As far as I know Polaris doesn't have a purpose built race quad like the YZ's. They're sport machines are geared more toward trail use I think. Especially the Outlaw line with the independant rear suspension. They have as much clearance in the rear as the other models have at center chassis. Might help in an Endurocross race if they even run quads like that but on a track I don't see it being worthwhile, unless it was very very well setup.

You haven't seen it on a honda or suzuki, so I doubt it's better. It's just different, and that alone is what these backseat manufacturers want to offer to make their product, well, different. Did Imention howbad polaris jet skis suck? Oh yeah, I did.

If I was going to buy a sport quad I think this would be it. It has Independent rear suspension and a 700cc motor

nah, the solid axle is what I'd go after again. I mean, what's the benefit of ifs in the rear? Less travel and even less durability? I didn't even realize Honda had that out now. I am corrected and admit it as usual.
