Well, hokie is misinformed in a big way. First off, I linger in his mind which tells me he has nothing else to think about, he needs something more in his life. Those were his statements. No one here lingers in my mind if I'm not being ornery on this forum. Then, he has doubts as to whether I modded my KLX. Then he claims I complain about every aspect of the bike. That is wrong, quite actually. I've always maintained I love the KLX's looks and it's capability but hate the anemic oem output and what you have to do to actually squeeze any type of power out of it. And even then, it's still pitiful compared to a stock DRZSM. It's the only real dirt bike out there street legal out of the crate for $4000. It's a great bike, it just needs more power. The suspension is old and outdated, but it works for my 150lbs. perfectly. I sold the DRZSM because it wasn't worth the investment for the time I could ride it, and am looking to probably buy another KLX simply because they're cheap and are great little playbikes if you mod them correctly. I am here because I have a lot of knowledge about the KLX and want to offer my input to new owners wanting advice on the best mods imo. There is so much bias and backpatting/reassurance seekers on this forum that I have to be neutral and realistic so others won't think that what everyone is doing is the only way to do it. My ways offer more bang for the buck than spending $600 on a pipe simply cuz it has a bulge in the header. Just trying to help is all. You guys hate it when someone comes on here and says "IG is right..........." you can't stand it, but it seems to get typed quite a lot if you haven't noticed. It all comes down to common sense, logic, simplifying, and being your own man.

You do not deal with the public much though it appears. Stay with being assertive. ie

 

I work with addicts, alcoholics, psychos, etc and probably will go into probation/parole work or more NP work. I am as real to them as I am to you. I am also in grad school and have to come out of my shell quite frequently, make power points and such. I'm pretty easy to get along with, but I do not like to sugar coat. If you were broken down though, I'd stop and help ya out and probably let you use my spare if you didn't have one.

 

Iowa, I mean this post in a positive way, but I think your daily interactions with addicts and such has affected your social skills with rest of us only partially nutz society members. I think ya need a week long vacation on an Island with your wife, with your kids spending the time at grandma's.

I can't believe i'm about to say this, but really, lay off of Iowaguy.

On most of the forums I frequent, you guys would have been banned in no time for bringing your past arguments into all of the threads he's posted in. On most of the forums I post on, it isn't allowed. The idea is that an argument remains in that thread. Doesn't matter how much the guy pissed you off, it just isn't fair to carry that anger over into another thread where he may or may not be making any trouble.

If he offended you in a past thread, ok, keep it in that thread. All of this "oh yeah well I remember in that one thread you said you bought a KLX sold it for a DRZ and now want another one bla bla bla you're an idiot" or "I can't believe you expect respect after whatyou've done in the past".

One of the underlying concepts of an internet community is contiguity. Treat everybody the same, doesn't matter what they've done in the past, drop it.

In many cases he does have a point, and in others he is just being a dick. This isn't one of those "being a dick" moments, and I think he's been pretty good about being ambiguous in his implied overtones.

So lay off, really. Continuing the IG bashing just takes all the threads offtopic.

 

sinkoman you haven't been around here long so instead of telling us we have to lay off IG try learning a little about what has happened in the past. The main problem people have with him is the fact that he is the one dragging up old **** all the time. Most of his comments contain Big Gun is best everything else is ****. Most of his comments contain KLX250 is underpowered DRSM is great and weigh the same as the KLX. It gets a bit boring especially when most of us know his comments are incorrect.
Sometimes he gets it right and when he does we say so. Of course then he gets a swollen head and tells everyone how right he is. It gets old real quick. Once a dick always a dick.

 

I know as much about the IG issue as anybody else here, I ran across the original arguments while dredging up old modding topics. I know exactly what it is about him that pisses you guys off.

But the fact of the matter is that it isn't fair to bring what he HAS done into a thread where he HASN'T done anything, like this one. What I saw was a disagreement, which lead to a discussion, which is healthy for a forum. Then I saw somebody bring in IGs past issues into the discussion, which isn't fair at all.

Pretend like he's never been a dick at all when you reply to him is the basic rule on most other forums.

 

Know what boggles my mind more than, thatspace goes on forever..... Why you people actually let him bother you? Yea sometimes hes a dick, but do you people argue with everyone you ever meet thats a dick? Life is too short for such BS.... its just funny, i dont know... maybe its my crazy coming out but if ya guys would just let it go there wouldnt be any arguements. Everyone is entilted to thier opinion, just let it be.

 

I never stated he was an idiot sinko,actually I did'nt say anything off color,I just posted my opinion as one can.I actually think the DRZsm is an awsome bike.IMO I've actually thought of buying one for street to keep up with my other slab friends but not sure without actually riding one.The motard bikes are just cool period and being able to pick a new one up for around 5G compared to spending twice that for other brands really makes it that much nicer. This post is just my own opinion.
