Default klx 250s 07 or 09 ?

hey all i am really chompin at the bit and ready to sign and ride and I've decided on the kawasaki klx 250s but i have a dilemma
to wait or not to wait, that is my question.

there are 07s available right now at slight discount but in a few months 09s will be available and I think new ones look pretty cool but then again so do the 07s

basically i want to know is there any reason why i would really want to wait and get the 09's

Do you know if there going to be any upgrades or fixes on any problems the 07's may have??? if so then i seriously would think about getting the 09 rather than 07

basically to sum it up want to know is there any reason why i would really want to wait and get the 09's besides just a new look ?

The downsides to the 09 KLX are the suspension travel and I would prefer not to have the 6th gear ratio lowered or the firmer seat.

The upsides being the looks, brakes, wheels and better stability at speed (as yet to be determined)...

When the 09 becomes available I will look into adding either the new KLX or the new 08 WR250R to my collection, my local dealer caries both makes and tells me they they should both arrive around the same time (year endish).

I actually prefer a firmer seat over the mushy one that comes with the 06-07. As far as suspension travel goes, I'm not so sure that it's going to be the 'liability' everybody thinks it will be. The change in geometry combined with different valving is supposed to offer good resistance to bottoming-out and the reduction in travel isadvertised asgiving the bike a more stable and planted feel. That actually sounds believable to me, but we'll have to see how itactuallybears out.

I think they're going to sell 'like hotcakes.' The 09 is also the perfect base for a motard, so hopefully Kawasakicomes to there senses in that regard because there is definitely a niche to exploit.

Which year offers red or green? Is that the 08? What happened to the 08?

There is no '08. The '09 offers both red or green.

So can someone here explain to me again what happened to the 08? Why does it seem that it was skipped?

Late model year release and a moderate redesign so Kawasaki elected to introduce as 2009 model, I think the fact that many dealers also still have a few of the 07 KLX250S in stock (high day supply) also played a roll in the model year skip.
Although it all makes little since to me.

I do not think 6th gear has been lowered, it's just that the distance between 5th and 6th is now narrower making it pull harder when shifted into 6th. either way, a 13-tooth front sprocket cures the problem. also, being one that did put a 13-tooth on my KLX, I can't see the new models ratios being any different than just doing that mod and it didn't limit my top speed at all, it was when I put the 45 on the back that kind of made it rev at highway speeds but nothing like the 5-speed DRZ which was screaming with my addition of a 44-tooth rear.

tremor- do you haveany other pictures of the new KLX you got at the show?

I can't make a lick of sence out of this statement, you're joking right???
How on earth is it going to "pull harder when shifted into 6th" with the same tall 6th gear ratio as it had last year?

meaning the gap between 5th and 6th is not as large. so when you are shifting into 6th on the new bike it won't drop off as much as the '07 or '06. does that make more sense?
