A manual one. Does this sound like it is the cause ?

Most of the sound is from the intake. Yes and cam chain can be loud if not adjusted properly. Its widely known that the OEM auto adjuster is crap.

 

No progress yet. Checked over the timing etc again everything
Looks correct just sounds a lot more rough in the valve train area
Hoping tensioner will fix the issue. On a side note it does run!

 

Did you do a valve check while it was apart? It sounds fine to me, remember that you're using more gas, and have a more powerful combustion that will make more noise.

 

I did check the valves everything is in spec. Maybe I'm just being too paranoid. Have not had a chance to take it for a rip yet too much snow and gravel up here!

 

Just ride it till it blows!
