I got mine from Cyclepages.com and I got a UNI UP-104. It is for a 5/8" hose application and it comes with a hose clamp. You just unhook the hose from the airbox and cap off the airbox hole. Then put this filter on the end of the crank case vent hose, route the filter and hose up under the seat near the rear suspsension and tie it off with some tie wire. That's my plan anyway.

Advantages:

1) larger breather hole

2) eliminate feeding nasty engine cruft back into the carb intake

Disadvantages: None that I know of.

Is that your take, bad bear? I'd heard of folks doing this over at advrider on their XR650's I think it was and again when Jerry Leighton over at FourStrokeWorks recommended it.

I used my first one on my 1978 KZ 1000 Drag Bike and had one on all my bikes since I just need to pick one up for this KLZ now I will check out where NoBrakes bought his. I had not even checked the inside diameter of the hose yet but Brian said 5/8" so he would no

Yep, that's it. I measured the i.d. of the hose before I ordered. The 5/8" should be the right size.
