Hi. Just recently I became interested in improving my Klx performance. Among the first things I'd like to do is to change the air filter. Would this K&N fit a Klx 250S 2018?
OP, do you intend to ride off road very much? I think evidence suggests that properly oiled foam filters are still the best where much dirt might be encountered. There's lots of hoopla and naysayers about K&N fabric filters, and a lot of it is exaggerated and full of bias. I'll stay away from that debate for the moment. If you're going to be riding pavement with an occasional dirt road, then the K&N work just fine. If you're going to be riding any decent amount of dirt or doing dirt road riding with other riders or traffic present...more airborne dirt particles...do yourself a favor and just stay with washable foam filters.

Absolutely true. You do not see any MX/SX or off road racers running K&N. Those who know do run foam filters. Flat trackers often run K&N for maximum air flow, but when running a really dusty track they will run the K&N filter wraps to filter out the finer silt.
Looks about right to me but there's no part number to verify.

Yeah, this is mostly my case. The moment I start riding off road again on a daily basis, I will make sure to change it back to the OEM one, or another foam one.

My son wanted one for his 2012 or 2013, can't remember what year. Looked exactly the same as your picture. We purchased it from MotoSport and in the description it said it would fit his bike. It did not, so we returned it.
How tight it is for the foam filter I don't know how a K&N would ever fit in there. Fortunately I don't plan to put one in so it really doesn't matter to me.

LOL!...I was wondering the same thing. It's a tight fit with a foam filter and cage even where you can kind of squeeze the cage.
I think I won't be getting the K&N then. Which one would be an upgrade compared with the oem? Hiflo? Twin Air? Any specific reference of these two that would fit in the 2018 model?
Which ever is cheapest then buy two. Oil both up, put one in and put the other in a gallon plastic zip lock bag for the next time you remember you want to put on a clean filter, the night before you plan to go riding.
