The 3 Allen bolts hold it on, and I think they had loctite on them. I remember that they were tight. The Philips head screws holding the wires and the pickup nearly stripped out when I changed mine. Find something to set the cover on that will let you push down very hard while you loosen those Phillips head screws. Be careful to note the way the wires are routed behind the pick up. take pictures, for future reference, as you go. I luckily had some pictures to look at when I put mine back together. I cleaned the rubber plug and the cut out it fits in very well and used a small bit of silicone in there when re-assembling it. There should be info on this in the manual.

A hand-held impact driver that you tap with a hammer is very useful in cases like this. A lot of people have never used or even seen one of these, but they fill a tool need that air or electric driven impact tools might be a little too violent for.

+1 on dan's recommendation for reinstalling the rubber wiring grommet and the silicone/gasket sealer.

Thanks DAN & TNC !
I guess I'm making this more then what it is lol
I will start to disassemble the stator and use the silicone when putting back the wire cut out. I'm going to search through the manual aswell when I get some time.
Am i risking anything major if i do not Torque the bolts to OEM spec when putting it all back together ?

Well, that's kind of a loaded question on the torque wrench. The more you work with parts like this over time, you do get confident about how much force to use on many fasteners on any mechanical device. Things like head, cylinder, and other super critical parts should probably always be assembled with a torque wrench, but cover bolts, screws, and similar fasteners...not so much.

I'm really dragging out this thread, sorry.
I just got the OEM replacement generator cover, and I noticed that is has two open holes on the front that I would have to seal with the parts from my original. I duno what but I am truly dreading this cover swap. I hope it's not that hard.
