Seriously though, because it's not a sports bike, I get waved at by cruisers. Because it's not a cruiser, I get waved at by sports bikers. Only people who get a god complex around it are BMW riders...

 

I have gotten lots of positive responses, inquiries about what it is, what year, how much it cost, how much mileage it gets, etc. I do get double takes and lots of attention from the police when I am on the street, though.

Last Summer, I went to what is called the Oyster Fest, in Anacortes, WA. There were approximately 40,000 bikes there for that event, kind of a mini-Sturgis of the West Coast. I got a lot of looks. On the way home, I took I-5, since it was getting late, so, here's this big guy, doing almost 70, on a little dual sport and I got a few thumbs up, with on sport bike passing me, hitting the brakes, shakes his head and gives me a huge thumbs up.

People get real curios when I tank up after about 70+ miles and only need about a gallon, especially when gas prices were over $4 a gallon.

 

ride with in your limits and respect the power you won't get hurt.

 

I get a lot more respect and looks on this bike than i ever did on my XT225.
And whats with the harleys waving, used to be 20yrs ago when I rode my GPZ 550 you could not pay a harley to wave at a Jap bike, now those yuppies wave at everybody.
Usually as i'm passing them on Route 6 while they putt along.
