Hello,
My 07 KLX250 had a weak battery and I bought a OEM kick start kit on close out long ago so today was the day.

thanks to the internet articles and the service manual it was fun but long.

The tear down.

98% complete ..Tested and working.

This is my 2nd 07 KLX250. I call it new old stock because it has less than 355 miles on it. Still has the breakin sticker on the tach.

‘Cheers.

Kickstart...my condolences....LOL! No, I modded two of my KLR's back in the day to add a kickstart...just the normal paranoia. I never had to resort to it out of necessity, so I quit doing it on the last two KLR's and the KLX. Nothing wrong with bullet proof backup, but it's amazing how reliable these electrical systems are these days.

Like Tacoma commented...that bike looks like it just came out of the box...LOL!

I have my back up starter riding another bike along with me. If we have to bump start we're good to go.

I picked it up as a dealer trade-in in Baton Rouge LA. He had it on the floor for a month and had no calls on it. 2 month later I found a KLX300 with the same mileage. I put the road tires, Clark plastic gas tank and the green headlight plastic on the 250... liked it better than all white.

Yeah, now that I know how easy it is to bump start one of these, kinda wish I had not bought the kit.......

Is that the stock seat on the 300? Looks kinda comphy and flat. Those are two nice rides.

The KLX300 seat is taller and narrower then the KLX250. I took some pictures.

KLX250 has the strap.
