Wow

Id like to see a link with the differences on the motors for these bikes with emissions....Must be timing....The 125 jet is sounding very nice...

Thanks

Default Who Cares?

If you wanted something that got good gas mileage, go get a moped. If you want a bike that will rip like mine at almost 90 mph after all the tricks and running a 47 rear sproket that will turn everyone's heads with the Two Brothers Slip On and all the Factory Effex Graphics then you are on the wrong machine.

I bought the KLX for gas mileage primarily and exploration secondarily. I'm getting over 70mpg consistantly with a mixture of highway and backroads. I get over 60 on trails. Mopeds can't go on the highway or the trails while a KLX can make it in 65mph zones on a limited basis and trails all day. Most of us here are trying to make a compromise between on and off road. There are plenty of folks here who have been able to obtain very good gas mileage and have great performance too.

Damn dude did you buy this bike for mileage? Really what's a few bucks extra in the tank.

Sell it and buy a scooter and you'll get a 100mpg.

I may be off base, but the modifications indicate that the slide was drilled AND the slide spring was shortened. Typically don't we do one or the other and since they are done to allow the slide to provide quicker throttle respose & send fuel more quickly, can it be that with both modifications, it opens too quickly and is dumping too much fuel?

IIRC the dj instructions suggest that if your having a problem to try limiting the amount of air into the engine. By taping off the airbox lid inlet you can adjust the air intake volume.

With a 124 main coming from a 132 that opening is going to be alot smaller.....
