Although I haven't been specifically looking I'm sure I would have noticed if there was any smoke. It's weird because it won't flutter(sorry to use technical jargon[&:]) under hard acceleration on the road. I will check the needle jet for burrs. Thanks.
Yeah, I don't remember exactly what the problem was, but it resulted in the needle not seating all the way into the needle jet which resulted in a very rich mixture. As I recall, the need wasn't fitting all the way into the slide which resulted in it riding too high.

If the only place you have problems is hills, maybe going to the 2nd notch from the top will fix it, but I'd still check the needle. It will be obvious because it wont go into the slide all the way upto the clip.

I don't mind trying eating your dust for a change, It will mean you will have to get in front. As long as I don't have to wear the dust all over me like you did with my dust this morning.[:-]

So you moved the clip from4th to 3rd position from top and stayed with the 128 main, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Tintman say he's running those same settngs, but still having problems
[sm=smiley25.gif][sm=WTFsgign.gif]Glad you got your bike running well, but something still isn't right in Kansas. I mean you both have the same bike and the air swirls through your carby in the same direction because you're both on thewrong side of the equator [8D]

Yes you are right, my carby already had the correct jetting but I hadn't fitted the Staintune muffler. The better exhaust flow must have been all it needed to correct what must have been a slightly rich mixture. It's strange though that when we both had standard pipes our bikes ran very different to each others with the identical jetting and mods.
