Search some street bike accesories as there are light weight magnetic strips that will make your bike trip these sensors, I usually just blow through if it dosen't pick me up.

Tried the magnet. Nope, used a half dozen of those extremely powerful ones. The best thing you can do is report it and if the traffic department is reasonable, they'll come out and adjust it. I HAVE HAD SUCCESS DOING THIS.

What the previous poster said. They can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor to pick up my frame thru the aluminum uptite skid plate.

I once waited at a light for a few cycles and ended up running the light... now I barely wait at all because I know it makes no difference. I just hope the explanation to the cops will be convincing

Its amazing, when I am in my truck, I am never first in line. The second i hop on the bike, I am the first to the light everytime.

I have a couple of methods. When I pull up to the light, I kind of go to the middle of the lane and as I stop, I turn sideways in the last foot. So I sit at the light at a 45 degree angle if that makes sense. Don't know why, but there are two left turn lights on my way to work that this works on everytime.

Or if there are some cars behind me, I pull all the way up, like my front tire is into the crosswalk ( safely ). Most of the time, the car behind me will pull up far enough to trip it.

Or yes, I run it after a few cycles.

BTW, it's not a weight sensor, but an inductive loop cut into the pavement. Good description here: HowStuffWorks "How does a traffic light detect that a car has pulled up?"

I've run into that at the only stop light we have in town..(don't laugh) LOL On the new Honda 1300 there must be enough weight or metal. On the KLX I have gone thru on a red when its safe, but I found a little trick that works, put the kickstand down for 3 seconds and then back up and that did it for me. Also I can wait for a car to come up behind me and trigger the light, but again small town and that may take a while. hahaha

Put it down right over the wire cut in the pavement. I've had that work a few times.
