I had to shim the rear bracket with one or two washers between it and where it bolts to the tank. U also might have to move some of the wiring around in front of the tank if u aren't able to get the side mounts to line up.

its different from the 06-07's. Does the bolt at the back of the tank seem like it is going in straight?

I ended up flipping the bracket with the thick grommet underneath. It was still a bitch to get the side holes to line up. And then I stripped one of them. But it still feels pretty secure and I doubt it'll be a problem. I did forget to flush the tank first. So I put about 1.5 gals in and took out a gal. Then I went and filled 'er up. No leaks, so that's good.

I recall having to push down quite hard to get the side holes to line up correctly. The wires at the front still seemed to be free though. The tank has been installed for about 3000K without incident. Not a fan of having upward pressure on nuts embedded in a plastic tank.

When I removed the side bolts with the OEM tank to install radiator guard supports I noticed the holes were poorly aligned to start with. Kawasaki level of quality control perhaps.

Next time I have the IMS tank off I was contemplating shaving down the rubber grommets supporting the tank sides - just a hair if I think it will help align the holes with nuts on the tank and not literally impact on items beneath the tank.

I removed those side rubber pads and it didn't make a bit of difference. It was still hard to compress enough to line up the side holes.

In the "too little, too late" department, I had to remove the frame spar pads, which allowed my tank to rest lower and line up with the side bolts. They did not line up with the indentations in the IMS tank. I contacted them about this issue, but it was really left up to me to solve. Just an FYI to others who may read this thread. Sorry I couldn't have helped earlier.
I should have mentioned that I also flipped the rubber, but it was the line up on the sides, not the height.
