Hey, Hypno, if you dump the girlfriend you'd get the wrapping project done faster and we'd all have your photos to admire before we all get alzhiemers.. Just a thot - probly not a good one..

haha yeah sorry its been so long on this thread, this set of classes got pretty intense really fast. I have done anymore vinyl wrapping but as you probably saw, since you helped me. I have fixed my idle and taken it to a shop to verify I had it right... which I did (I'm just too cautious).

Right now I am trying to determine what mods are done to this bike as that would be a good starting point.

I'm holding off on the cosmetic stuff at the moment and going more for useful mods, and also some repairs such as touching up or repainting the frame, and bending the subframe portion back straight.

sooo... so far.. it looks like...

Snorkel is missing
dynojet was installed ( I think a 128 I am at 0 elevation pretty much)

I cant find any other mods done to this bike.

why does taking the snorkel off of the airbox actually do anything? I can see it could add a small amount of static pressure but it is also pointing in the direction of airflow. and it takes away maybe an inch^2 of surface are opening

also: I have just looked at the stickied thread to look for mods that could have been to this bike because the guy who owned it before said he did mods from this site but these links take me back to the main page haha

I have the DJ setups for the CVK charted, tested, and figured out.. Taking the snorkel out does a lot, removing the lid does a lot more.. Neither can be done without also adding the correct jetting setup. When/if your bike runs properly, I need to know what exhaust systems/components you're running in order to know which CVK "recipe" you'll need..

There are two reasons why its great I think,

One, its honest, this is progressing so slow I will be happy to have it somewhat done in a year haha.

Two, it sounds like I am trying to make my bike go slower.

So I had my carb all figured out took it to the mechanic made sure everything was good. idle was finally resting fine at 1100ish rpm and wouldent die on me. As I was driving home today my bike died when I let off the throttle and would not start unless the choke was on or I had it at quarter throttle or more. It seems like either my pilot screw possibly fell out? or my pilot path is dirty and blocked... so thats good haha

If I am correct turning out the pilot makes the mixture leaner? in which case it fell out. If pulling it out makes is richer than the pilot is clogged with something.

but as far as I understand because the pilot is on the engine side turning it out should give me more fuel? But I guess if it was completely missing then the venturi would pull air in and lessen the fuel content to air ratio?

Fuel screw out = richer AFR at idle, decel, ops just above idle, and transition to needle.

heh yeah I have lost my pilot screw. damnnitttt. I just went out tried to start it nothing, choked it, ran fine, pushed in choke died. started it with choke, put my finger over the pilot screw hole. felt pulsing vacuum. ran great while covered, uncovered it and it died. also I cant touch a screw with my driver only aluminum... looks like I may be upgrading to a t handle screw depending on the price of oem lol
