Wrong. I've seen the HP doubled, but it costs a ton of money. I know of someone on this forum who has already more than doubled the stock HP, but it takes more money than most people are willing to spend, including me.

Agreed that it will never be DRZesque though, because the low-end just won't be there without the CC's.

lol, baited as lured. like I'm surprised you chimed in. show me the money, or eh, proof. so what is that, like 38 horsepower at the rear wheel. nah, I'm thinking not. but hey, I'm openminded and if you can prove me wrong with a dyno I'll concede you're right.

We need to get Jesse James working on this bike.

I wonder how long the frame would hold up if you somehow got a big V-Twin crammed in there. Either that or the transmission would be ground to dust. Would be a wild 30 minutes though.

What would be involved to shoe-horn a KX450 motor into the little KLX frame? From looking at photo's of both it looks like it can be done. A project like this would probably cost less then maxing out the 250 output. Imagine the potential.

Imagine the hospital bill!

Crazier things have been done though.

Have you guys seen the thread over on Thumpertalk? We got screwed here in the US. The fuel injected version of our bike is making 24hp out of the crate.

I'm too lazy to convert to US dollars. 3rd gear power wheelies....cool.

I think someone else brought up the idea of putting in the motor from the 450 into this bike, and it was shot down due to the frame and suspension not holding the extra weight.

I swear, if Kawi comes out with a KLX-450S I'ma trade in this bad boy in a heartbeat.

Er...it's not 18? I'm looking at my dynojet chart right now, and it definitely doesn't top 20. Maybe I might get 24.5 with full exhaust and jet kit. Even then I doubt that.

If the euro carb version gets 24.5, then for us in the US we get double screwed.
