5000 miles total on my '07 since I bought the bike in February of this year. Had the valves checked at 3500 miles and they were in spec at the lower end. No problems at all with this bike so far.

I have 4k now. Other than the timing chain ticking its been perfect. I don;t think its anything thats going to affect the life of the engine, its more of an annoyance.

I love it!!

Dude! I turn 21 next month (November 5). You need to take me under your wing and train me in the ways of firearms! Not to thread-jack, but I've been seriously looking at the Beretta 96 (its the 92 in .40 S&W) or maybe just the 92 FS. Also like the Glock.

Come on up to SC, and we can have some fun. I enjoy the 96, but the 92 IS cheaper to shoot...

Here's my 96 with an Innovative Arms suppressor:

Now, to keep this back on track -- I'm impressed w/ the milage some of you folks have. For some odd reason, I just figured these engines would need a little more TLC with milage.

5,500miles. Timing chain replaced at 5k miles due to over streching.

cliffsta, get a Glock. Bought mine just weeks after I turned 21. More than 2,000 rounds fired, and it has never jammed once. A firearm I can trust my life on.

Just turned 1600mi on my 09. Purchased end of July. Mostly street comute to work but finally got to churn some dirt this past weekend on a 120mi offroad excursion. What a blast!!! Bike performed perfect and 80 degrees in mid October in Michigan was a rare treat!!!

Changed oil/filter at 300km's. Done 750km's now, so nearly due for 1st service that the local dealer will complete. Regularly clean/oil chain and WD the items that cliffsta mentioned.
After 1st service, I'll regularly change oil/filter and clean air filter. No probs to date - great little machine!

Christ, USMCsilver, I knew you yanks liked guns, but are you preparing to invade a small third world country????!!!!

You freakin need guns here man. Between gangs and drug related crimes like street robberies, home invasions... and crap like that, you gotta have a gun. If more people had guns there would be less crimes because A. the people that tried to rob you would be shot and therefore no need to process them. and B. Through Darwinisim the idiots would all be killed off and the smarter criminals would wise up and stop robbing people, they know vast majority of people DON'T have guns so they know they can get away with whatever they do...and they do it too.

I very much so encourage people to exercise your right as an American to get a concealed weapon permit and carry a handgun. lean how to use and store it safely and responsibly. Hey, the criminals use every damn right they have...its time for law abiding citizens to do the same. The cops and government arent gonna do anything. It's time Americans do what they do best and stop takin crap and take care of the problem ourselves.

:End Rant:
