At one point I would have said forever, but reality is I kept mine a little over a year.

It does what I want it to do, a little off road alittle on I've got it set up just the way I want so being 60 it's the last duel sport I will own. ( ok my wife finally left the room... what do you think about the new 450?)
Its cool ol guy, we won't tell her.

Perspective is always interesting...Up until recently, I would have said, "I'd never buy one." Now, I suspect it'll be my last d-s (Or the WR250.). I don't need any more for the public roads. Been there, done that. Good fun.

I have had mine since april of 06... and put just over 8,000 miles on it.
I may have gotten the KLX in April of 2007, but I didn't get my "M" endorsment until the end of July. So I lost a few good months of riding. But don't worry, I'm trying to make up for it riding in the freezing winter months.[&:]

I am hoping to have it until I am too old to ride. I use Amsoil synthetic and hope the engine never dies. Had it since June 07 & love it more every day.

I'll add the 300 kit to mine after I have done about 20 000kms. I have done nearly 3000kms already and have owned the bike for 3 months, thats 1000kms per month atm. Once it becomes a 300 I will add a bigger tank and a new exhaust. Once that is done I will ride it for as long as I can. I change the oil every 1000kms and never rev it over 7000 rpm. Becausethe bike isstill stock bar the snorkel which has been taken off It's pretty hard to over rev it anyway. I'm also thinking about adding a kick start later on, not sure yet. Everywhere I go people just stare at it and want to touch it, I love the KLX its a nice looking bike.
Cheers!
