hmmm, yup, keeping my KLX250S
I bought the F800GS, and it being the new bike, it has been getting more attention than the KLX. But, I rolled out the KLX this afternoon and took it for a ride. After the 800cc, the 250cc seems small and gut-less (as they say in here in the valley of SoCali. "Like, oh my god... Duh?")
But it did not take long to feel the love. It is so easy to manhandle, and so darn light... especially after the big (not so big) GS. I still dig the KLX...
I do believe it is "Goodbye cruisers..." I have learned not to say "never again", that phrase just seems to haunt me later. As I get older that "never again" thing seems dumber and dumber. Hey I learned that even golf can be fun with the right guys and some beer... anyway.. I digress...). The "never again" motto is temping to throw out against the cruisers. But instead, I'll settle for an "I don't think the cruiser bikes will find a way back into my garage for a long time..."
My KLX is staying... The F800 Beemer, the KLX, and the Quad seem to be a great mix of diversity and fun.
so.. here in the church of the dualies can I get an "A-men, Brother!".

If I had the room for another bike, the F800GS would be on my short list..or possibly an F650GS, in silver-n-black with hard cases.
I thought about the F650GS... and then being 6' 2" thought awwww I like power.
But the lure of tubeless tires was strong... Other than the Tubeless there was nothing keeping from the 800 (except maybe $2500)
Connie, that is a nice bike.

Amen brother. I love the KTM, it feel so light and the instant power is a blast, but there is something about coming home from work, jumping on the KLX, riding to the trails and blasting them for an hour, then riding back home.
Tomorrow I am taking a bikeless friend riding, we are loading both of my bikes into the back of my truck and hitting some trails that are about 20-25 minutes away. I never had both the bikes out together, it should be fun.
