Toobad many of you feel that way bout HMF. myself and many others had very good luck with the pipe. I did add a spacer but only an additional 10mm, not a full inch. I waited for 6 weeks to get mine but thata was initial production days a year ago,and comparired to the issues with the others and the price, I would do the HMF all over again.

I have other major problems in my life to contend with right now, like a mother who is very ill and running an outdoor program for at-risk youth - the muffler issue seems pretty minor to me. Must be a pretty lonely world for you when you judge everyone by your high standards of consumerism.
You get no sympathy from me...My father had quadruple bypass heart surgery last year, my father-n-law died May 15th and my mother had a stroke 4 weeks ago. Everyone has problems but if you dont stand for something you will fall for anything.

I will continue to voice my dissatisfaction with HMF every single time its mentioned soget used to it [sm=trust_me.gif]

Sorry about your family members. I am standing out against everything that's bad from Texas! : )

The HMF is still a good pipe as is the Two Brothers!

Im sorry about all the hub-bub. It honestly sounds like the more recent a purchase you made, the worse it is. I used a broomhandle on the thing today and a vice, removing the tip and such. I had to use two 9/16s nuts stacked on top of each other to have the muffler "just" clear the fender, by apapers width, AFTER bending (I will not bend any more, as stainless is brittle). I am going to bevel another 9/16s nut on a grinder as the canister needs to stay "clocked" to the 1230 or 0100 position to clear the frame/pass peg mount. Itll do for now, as I can ride it!! I dont know who designed their welding fixture, but Id like to beat him!! The materials seem top notch, and the staff seems friendly, and I LOVE the re-jet directions and such on their website. After all is said, it probably could all be solved by a simple joint at the canister, and a clamp, increasing the cost of the product 10 or 15 dollars, and alleviate ALL the issues.

I would not call bending, cutting, grinding, tweaking with a broom handle, spacing or any combination there of as good.

I agree the thing won't fit our bike the way it is. That is crazy when you look at their web site and the way they talk about setting it up for the KLX. I thought I was getting a great pipe and now after much tweaking I did. It now fits fine and everything works. It doesn't hit the fender and the passenger peg works just fine.

If I have time this weekend I will post some pictures of what I did. I used a stainlessbrace between two of the factory holes in the sub-frame and cut about 2 inches off the mid-pipe. If I had it to do over I would get the 2-brothers!
